jQuery Table Sorting

26 August, 2007 (21:14) | JavaScript | By: Darryl Lyons

I just saw a great post over at Ajaxian. It details a new jQuery plugin to easily enable sorting on a table. The features look awesome - multiple column sorting being one of them! Definately worth checking out.

Now that Coldfusion 8 has included ext, why don’t you head over to extjs.com and look at the already implemented sortable columns they have. This way when you upgrade to cf8, you’re already on your way to extending the ext libraries that come with Coldfusion. This library can sit on top of jQuery if you are into that.

There’s a new coldfusion site coming for ext. Details will be released on my blog shortly.

Chris, yes, I saw that CF8 had it. To be honest, we are moving away from ColdFusion and writing pure Java. Our AJAX framework is actually built upon Ext, so I am very familiar with their grid. The main issue I have with it is that you cannot have too many grids on the same page at the same time (a real issue in IE6).

Cool to see a project you work on show up in the feed for a blog you subscribe to (I wrote the docs). Thanks for the mention!
