It seems to me that the best way around this is to be an ebay affiliate. They do pay a pretty healthy commission, and you don't have to worry about any of this stuff. Also, you could stick it to ebay by trying alternative auction sites such as ubid.com.

The biggest problem with eBay is that they pretty much have a monopoly. Thousands of businesses have built themselves on eBay and even before these fee increases, the transparent nature of online auctions was making it hard to survive. Increased competition has lead to price wars and eBay has done nothing to make it easier... they keep making it harder and this is just evidence of that. From a friendly small business helping other small businesses and the community.... to a corporate giant that seem to have no conscience.

Of course! I watched that presentation, and in context it made a lot of sense - but out of context, it's pretty funny!

I will be doing Eclipse plug-in development, so it's pretty exciting. Basically we are rewriting our existing ajax-based crm as an RCP application. The immediate change will also be on the backend - we writing our own server which the app will connect to via a socket connection. That immediately improves speed between client-server as we're not using HTTP anymore.

pan69, same employer.

Will you be doing Eclipse Development? or Java development using the Eclipse IDE?

If doing Eclipse Development? I'd be interested to hear more about what you will be doing with the platform?

Will you be working with that same employer? If you go to a new company, what will you position be? Is that Java development for Eclipse (like plugins and stuff) or with the Eclipse?
