I think for the whole scene its alot more than that. Just in iCE theres about 84 people. Just think of how many groups there are, and all the people who aren't even in groups.

I'd say at least 1500++

Leo

There are thousands of hits on hirez.org weekly, and I know acheron.org has A LOT more hits than hirez. The scene must be over a thousand _active_ people, and a lot more just sitting there with their thunbs in their ass. Now I'm counting the local groups too that get on artpacks.acid.org occasionally.

Just having your name on a memberlist in some group doesn't cut it though. I'd say a considerable portion of that 1500 hasn't done a whole lot to contribute to the scene as a whole in the last 6 months.

1500 is probably an exaggeration, i'd say probably about 500 people, then again I could be mistaken..

For as for acheron. We get about 150-200+ hits per day on the front page, or about 8,000 hits per day across the entire site (every single .shtml, .jpg, etc file).. That's pretty good when you consider the number of people within the scene and also that acheron is catering for a rather closed off target audience (ie. its not a Jennifer Love Hewitt site :>)

I also usually skip right past the front page, and just type in the URL for the message boards, because I use Opera, and the selector menu thingie doesn't work right.

The fact that you use opera tells me a lot :) Seriously dude, opera does suck as a browser (unless you have some disability, where it acutally comes in handy I've heard), because it doesn't handle javascript properly (ie. not like NS or IE)

ACtually, its around 400+ hits a day to the front page checking my logs.. Guess I was wrong. :)

what wonders me is groups having such BIG memberlists but how many guys are actually active? for example some months of ice & acid there's only the active part releasing, just a few guys. i dunno about ansi. in acheron i think we have maybe 30-40 active faces and from 400 hits/day the active guys are producing at least half of it =)

Should mist ever release again 8) new memberlist policy:

list only the people who appear in the pack. I can't find any justifiable rationale for doing things any other way.

OK.. hirez get about 1600-2900 days throughout the site a day, and the frontpage gets about 70 a day.

yeah but you don't have to draw to be part of the scene, other people look at our packs...

Dangermouse --

If I need something to handle Javascript correctly (and bog down my system), I'll open up Netscape. Usually, I just prefer something that works quickly and efficiently.

Don't get me wrong, Oprah is pretty quick -- but it still lacks many of the features that its larger cousins have..

I don't think Oprah could have any larger cousins. She's pretty tubby.

Or did you mean the browser? I just can't stop thinking about lame daytime TV...

Yeah, it still doesn't support Java, and its javascript isn't perfect. But I can do everything from the keyboard, which I really like, and it's pretty customizable. So for everyday browsing, that's what I use.

Ahem cough cough its called Cleaning house some groups need to do it. Cia did and we still have a large number. Its just that age ol thing called time and not a lot of leaders have that. However I think it should be a standard policy after 4-5 months of no activity or disappearance that the person in question is not coming back.
